We have an exciting opportunity for a Programme Manager to join our award-winning start up in Central London.

In a dynamic fast growing business such as Verv, change is constant and rapid product development needs to be married with market launches, customer trials, and organisational growth.

The Programme Manager will be responsible for managing and coordinating the continual programme of change and product delivery across the Verv business unit, linking together agile software development with hardware, organisational growth, customer trials, and product launches.

The Programme Manager requires to work with the Verv leadership, identifying, coordinating, and managing the dependencies between projects. With strong project/programme management skills, you will develop and maintain the Verv Change & Delivery Programme, identifying risk & issues to delivery, resource constraints, identify inter-dependencies, and manage change control processes. Reporting regularly on performance up to senior management.

Initially the focus of this role will help to facilitate change through our agile delivery of our product roadmap. Assisting and coaching our software team to ensure projects are well-planned and implement to allow on-time and high delivery while managing other projects.

As a Programme Manager you will:
  • Develop and manage the Verv programme planning across all the projects underway at Verv spanning software, hardware, organisation, trials, and product launches
  • Coordinate projects, holding regular status meetings with project leads
  • Understand and map the dependencies, identifying and resolving problems
  • Identify and resolve/mitigate risks & issues
  • Track and identify resource misallocation or shortage
  • Regularly report up to senior management on programme progress
  • Conduct project wash-ups to identify areas for improvement
  • Manage interface between agile and waterfall projects acting as scrum master where support is needed
  • Lead and coach wider team on project methodology and delivery focus
  • Change control project and programme scope
  • Track and hold projects accountable for delivering on-scope, on-time and on-cost
What we are looking for?
  • + 3 years experience in leading roles within technology programmes or project leadership, possibly with PMO management experience
  • Qualified in Prince2
  • Scrum Master accredited certification is a plus but not essential
  • Programme or project experience in technology solutions delivery, particularly IoT or SaaS is highly advantageous
  • Prior experience in a consultancy
  • Possess outstanding interpersonal skills with the confidence to engage with start-up management teams, technologists and external partners
  • Excellent leadership and influencing skills, able to drive diverse set of project and customer leads to deliver results autonomously
  • Ability to manage your time effectively to plan, coordinate and drive forward projects within specified budgets and deadlines.
  • Have excellent report writing and power-point skills with the ability to convey complex technical and project information
  • Be a natural collaborator, able to partner effectively with others to achieve results

We have an exciting opportunity for an AWS Developer to join our award-winning start up in central London.

As a key member of our software delivery team the AWS Developer will allow us to consistently improve the user journey for Verv customers through delivery of improvements and new product features. Working collaboratively with software delivery colleagues on our product roadmap you will bring your skills and experience to bear in an exciting and dynamic environment that encourages the use of new ideas and technologies.

As an AWS developer you will:
  • Create different AWS services like API, RDS instances and Lambda to build server-less applications
  • Create a Redshift cluster and doing data warehouse.
  • Experience in using virtual servers specifically EC2 instances within AWS.
  • Create different S3 buckets and write Lambda functions to requirements.
  • Implement Kibana (or similar) on top of AWS technology.
  • Create alerts (custom and managed) for different services.
  • Extract log data and create custom logs.
  • Work with Software Owner and development teams to manage and meet project deadlines by ensuring appropriate test coverage is considered and implemented.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Mid-level iOS Developer to join our award-winning start up in central London.

A truly collaborative developer, the successful candidate will be working within a multi-talented team of designers, developers and testers. Delivering across the entire app life cycle, from concept, design, build, deploy and test, right through to release to app stores and support.

As an iOS developer you will:
  • Develop and extend the reach of our existing applications while helping to define the roadmap for future apps.

What we are looking for:
  • 2+ years commercial B2C iOS development experience (iOS SDK, Xcode & Swift).
  • Demonstrable experience of working with standard iOS frameworks, 3rd party libraries and APIs.
  • Reactive programming using RxSwift and RxCocoa.
  • An ability to deliver solutions with iOS UI/UX principles in mind.
  • Quality-led approach to development (UI/Unit Testing).
  • Working knowledge of the general mobile landscape, architectures, trends and emerging technologies.
  • Solid understanding and practical knowledge of the full mobile development and application lifecycle.

We have an exciting opportunity for a innovative, creative and technical Head of Hardware Engineering who will successfully create and design new products and continue to drive forward the development of our core products here at Verv.

Sitting within the Verv leadership team reporting directly into the MD, the Head of Hardware Engineering will manage all phases of the product life cycle from conception through to ideation, development, launch and end of product life. You will have experience working as a Hardware Engineer or Hardware Project Manager, who has managed, built and led high performing teams, while developing complex systems in IoT consumer electronics products. You are excited by producing cutting edge electronics, driven to develop and deliver new products. Working closely with software, mechanical and embedded platform teams to ensure that design is fit for purpose, you will work with multidisciplinary teams and be instrumental in the success of all products.

As a Head of Hardware Engineering you will:
  • Lead the Hardware Team, successfully managing and directing technical, engineering, and project management
  • Working closely with third party manufacturers and designers, project manage the development of new hardware from conception through design, develop, test and manufacture
  • Take full ownership and responsibility for successful delivery of customer ready hardware propositions for the organisation

We are looking for someone who:
  • 5+ years experience in overseeing the complete life cycle of consumer electronic products, preferably in IoT space.
  • Degree or higher in Electronic Engineering
  • Experienced Project Manager who has demonstrable working knowledge of R&D development projects, New Product Development, New Product Introduction and Mid / High Volume Production.
  • Experience with newer wireless and RF technologies (802.11X and 802.15.X)
  • Highly collaborative and flexible, with ability to work successfully cross-functionally to deliver a shared product
  • Experience of working in fast paced, VC backed, scale-up environment.
  • Project management experience and capability, ideally with Prince2 or equivalent qualification
  • Supplier management experience, and project skills to successfully hold suppliers to account
  • Previous knowledge and technical understanding of IoT

You’ll be working on products that are a part of day to day life for users across the globe, and your work here will shape the way that people interact with their home.

We’re looking for a problem solver, experienced in product design to drive the UX and UI of the Verv’s digital products, from the current Android and iPhone apps to the website and all the cool stuff we have ahead. Your passion for solving problems and creating beautiful, user-centric designs will help Verv continue to deliver a best in market experience. You’ll develop a deep understanding of current user behaviour through usability testing and applying these insights to create epic experiences.

You'll work closely with product owners, the customer experience team, software teams, partners and other key stakeholders to lead on the creation of new features, design updates and improvements, prototyping of new concepts, user experience insights and ultimately ship great software products.
